About Bob McQuellon

For over four decades, Bob McQuellon has built a reputation as a trusted expert in real estate. He has helped property owners save millions of dollars in property taxes by leveraging his deep knowledge of property valuation and the tax appeal process, combined with his collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Education & Early Career

Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Parks College at Saint Louis University and went on to complete a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Saint Louis University. His early career at the Army Aviation Systems Command sharpened his analytical skills and attention to detail, which later became critical in his tax appeal work.

Real Estate Sales & Transition to Tax Appeals

Before starting his tax appeal business, Bob worked in real estate sales at RE/MAX during the late 1970s and 1980s, where he gained valuable experience in property markets and client relations. This hands-on experience in real estate laid the foundation for his transition into property tax consulting.

Beginning of the Tax Appeal Business

In 1986, Bob launched his tax appeal business by forming a network of trusted professionals, including appraisers, accountants, assessors, attorneys, and other real estate experts. This collaborative approach allowed him to provide clients with comprehensive solutions tailored to their unique needs. During this period, Bob gained valuable experience in handling diverse property types and navigating complex tax regulations.

Formation of McQuellon Consulting Inc.

Building on years of success and a growing client base, Bob officially founded McQuellon Consulting Inc. in 2004. Under his leadership, the firm has become a leading name in real estate tax consulting, known for its rigorous approach, personalized service, and exceptional results. Bob’s expertise spans a broad range of property types, from residential and commercial properties to special-use developments.

Meet Ryan McQuellon

Ryan McQuellon has been a real estate tax analyst at McQuellon Consulting for over 20 years.  He is a certified general real estate appraiser (not available for fee assignments on any tax appeal cases)  and brings over two decades of experience analyzing commercial and industrial tax assessments.   Ryan holds a B.A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and an M.B.A. from Loyola University Chicago.
